We started as a community that talked about basketball. Long story short the board we were on didn't much appreciate our community and vice versa. We've been in beta for the past couple days with our current base of users. We're testing functionality, trying to break things and making UI changes to improve things.
Below are early concept pics, the board has already changed a little and will keep changing until we strike a balance between usability and visual appeal.

When you press reply the box opens on the right side and the thread remains completely scroll-able on the left side.

I thought so at first too but we can make an exception for you yokels.
We're at a little over 300 registered users and have been in contact with communities from the same board we sprouted from originally. Communities include hip-hop/Pop/MLB/Soccer/MMA/NFL etc. The goal is to have ~500 users by the end of june which I feel we will easily accomplish. Some of the other guys involved could spread the word to other popular forums fairly easily but we all agreed that we'd rather have quality users over quantity, and you guys are mostly not the worst people on the internet.
As for the board's progress:
Things are coming along pretty nicely, there have been some bugs that the two guys who built it have found since we started testing it. The major stuff should be ironed out within a couple weeks and then those same two guys will start putting together the mobile version which should be very similar to the full sized desktop version.
They're targeting a completion date of early June (before june 10th) so it'll be fully operational in time for E3 (this sports community was an off chute of a video game forum so the majority of posters are also videogame nerds). We're all remaining patient cause the hard work is on 2 guys who work full time along with freelance contracts and they're putting this thing together in their little available free time.
