And there aren't too many people out (maybe it's at night) and you end up walking behind someone for a while, and they keep turning where you're going to turn, do you ever worry that they might think you're following them?
It happens. I think it probably happens less to girls (we're less intimidating) than to guys. I've been on the other end though, and you're totally like "WTF WHY IS THIS PERSON BEHIND ME OMG I HOPE THEY DON'T STAB ME AND TAKE MY MONEY!" and then I realize I have no money, so I relax.
It also happens in cars. When I get close to my house and some car has been behind me for 20 minutes I start driving in circles to make sure I'm not being followed. It freaks me out sometimes.

Just walk faster so you'll end up in front and accuse them of following you.
That's usually what I do. But if the person is a fast walker, I'm worried they'll think I'm moving in to do whatever horrible thing they must think I'm planning.
But when it's successful I'll usually think something like "Oh, so you thought I was following you? Please! Don't flatter yourself!"
