Is it just me or are way more people pretending to care about the World Cup this year? Before it seemed like everyone was all "SOCCER THAT'S GAYS ", at least the people I knew (excluding the beaners), now for some reason they're all interested and they actually watch it, or at least they claim to. Yesterday a group of my white friends actually were DISCUSSING SOCCER, which has never ever ever ever ever happened before. It doesn't make any sense. WHY THE CHANGE OF HEART? THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO KNOW.

If there was a world wide Rugby tournament and US had a team involved that made further than coutries who actually care then there'd be white douches talking abou rugby right now.
It's like when any sports team in any city makes it deep in the playoffs or to a championship round everyone living there acts like they were supporting and watching since day one.

I don't know anything about soccer so the fact that the US is still in it doesn't seem all that exceptional to me. I keep forgetting they're in it. ALL I KNOW IS IT'S ANNOYING.

Televised sports in general are insufferably boring.
the only sport thats insufferably boring is baseball, to play and to watch. Everything else ranges from moderately boring to not boring, also everything decreases in the amount of boring when you participate.
I wouldn't mind if baseball just died one day.

I like soccer, though it does move too slowly for my taste. I like hockey much better (similar concept -- people trying to get an object into a net on opposite sides of an enclosed area).
Following the World Cup is fun when you don't have to sit through the whole game, but only track the score in the background as a work-time distraction.
