The latest episode was wonderful. I let out and audible "Awwww" when I saw what Leela left for Fry in the cave.

Looking back at some of the older episodes, the jokes on Futurama have always been hit and miss, mainly because they try to pack a gag into every line.

The new episodes might have slightly increased the miss:hit ratio, but they've at least confirmed that Futurama is still a damn good, albeit not perfect, show.

Well the same can be said for just about any comedy. Not every joke is going to make you laugh. I don't think it's any secret that the new episodes aren't on the same level as the initial run, but they're still good, and I think the last two in particular made up for that with having really nice emotional, character driven storylines.
