So, it's an amazing-looking movie. The live action and CGI are merged absolutely seamlessly. It's literally impossible to tell that the aliens aren't real.
And in 3D, the action sequences are spectacular.
But, the plot has been done before, and it had an unabashedly anti-human, anti-civilization agenda, which kind of pissed me off.
HOOMANS ARE EVIL GOVERNMENT CORPORATIONS ALIENS ARE INNOCENT TRIBESMEN WHO DO NOT PRACTICE BARBARIC RITUALS WE SHOULD ALL LIVE IN TIPIS CAUSE THEY'RE A LOT BETTER IN SOME WAYS
I haven't seen it. Everyone I've talked to over the past couple weeks has been all "OH MAH GAWD IT'S AVATAR OH MAH GAWD!" and telling me I have to see it. I'M NOT GOING TO WATCH IT, OKAY? NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER. LEAVE ME ALONE.

Also - the South Park "Dances with Smurfs" kept popping into my head during this movie. I'm glad to see I wasn't alone.
The movie was anti-Iraq war and anti-Black Water apparently. WAR WITH PRIVATE COMPANIES IS BAD MKAY. THEY JUST WANT MONEY AND DON'T CARE ABOUT LIVING THINGS MKAY. WATCH SOME SMURFS WITH TAILS!
