Please name a horror movie that you can truly call a cinematic masterpiece. The people behind those movies aren't trying to create art; they're trying to create thrills. They can be successful to that extent, but it does not make the movie great.
So... not being cinematic masterpieces = the entire genre is terrible? I understand the difference between art and entertainment, I never claimed them to be anything more.

I'm not even a big horror fan, but this is an extremely silly statement.
When I said they were "all terrible" I did not mean to be taken literally. However, I maintain that it is a genre mostly filled with trash, at a higher rate than mostly any other genre of film.
