Please God, let it not be true that Nolan and/or Bale are leaving the continued Batman project. Do you remember the last time there were two great Batman films with great casting and directing? Do you remember what happened when the role of Batman changed, and the director left?
Indeed. I just put in Batman Forever just to remind myself how much I wouldn't want to see some new, compromised piece of ****.
If Nolan wants to take a break from Batman, that's cool. No rush. I'll wait til 2015 or whatever. BUT GODDAMNIT I DON'T WANT MICHAEL BAY DIRECTING THE NEXT ONE.
Haven't. But I've heard good things, mostly from you. How old is Christian Bale? Hollywood wouldn't tolerate a Batman that's TOO old. Just someone who isn't in his prime anymore.
Bales probably mid thirties? I'm sure they could age him with make up and all that. However, I said during a viewing of Gran Torino that the first Batman in the 80s shouldve been of The Dark Knight Returns and it should have starred Clint Eastwood. That is the feel I get from the graphic novel.
It is a great book, but it might be hard to translate into film because there are like four climaxes.
Heh, I forgot about that Michael Bay script for The Dark Knight. Michael Bay is just the first director that came to mind that would be used to obliterate what has been a Batman fanboy's greatest few years of cinema.
Yes. That's why Batman retired. Then a new person starts trying to be Robin. I'VE ALREADY SAID TOO MUCH. You said you're a fast reader, so take a day and read it.
