Anyway, I agree with John. Nothing was ever proven. I think it's wrong people act as if he without doubt molested children. We have a justice system for a reason.

However...His personality did not help the matter and I don't completely blame a life of over exposure on that. Plenty of child stars who remain famous don't turn out to be total whack jobs. He got so much press because he was such an odd person.

The way our justice system is set up, a conviction is far more conclusive proof of guilt than an acquittal is of innocence.

He was acquitted of child molestation, and it's entirely possible that he never molested any children, but the rabid fans (of which every celebrity has some) will shout "BUT HE WAS ACQUITTED!" when anyone even raises the possibility.
