Midwesterners and southerners are ridiculous. It is called soda. If you disagree, you are objectively wrong.
I sort of have a rotating list of favorites. Dr. Pepper is high on my list right now. I also like Cherry Coke, though I've been trying to drink less soda of any kind lately.

So, in the south, is "coke" a class of drinks, with "Coke" being a particular brand?
Way to promote the genericization of trademarks.
This drives me crazy. I'm in the south and I don't hear that too much, but I used to have a friend from Texas and to him and his family all soda is called coke. One time he went out to dinner with me and asked the waitress for a coke and got upset/confused when she didn't stick around to find out what kind of coke.
I get irritated when other brand names are used generically too.
