I suggested to my friends we pack up some food and take my friend's hybrid car out to LA. Between four of us, we have like 600 dollars. That could get us pretty damn far and back with a hybrid car. No one takes me seriously. It'd be cool! WE'RE ALL ON BREAK. RYAN WANTS FUN.
San Diego is far nicer than LA, from what I remember. To be fair, though, I haven't been there since I was 13. I just remember the awesome zoo that they had there.
It's sort of like that. Also, it covers such a small area, that it's really easy to wander into a sketchy neighborhood. Conversely, that means it's rarely too difficult to get out of a bad neighborhood.
And, really, the "bad" neighborhoods aren't that terrible. They're really poor, and infested with drugs and prostitution, but during the day, they're perfectly safe, and at night, a group of people should also be fine. It's women walking alone at night who usually have the most cause to be worried, just like any other city.
The worst part about these neighborhoods is constantly getting hit up for change, but that's just annoying and sometimes uncomfortable.
