I finally got around to taking pictures of my baby chinchillas. They're half way grown now, and they have their fur back.


This one is Dexter -



And this one is Bob -



And they poo all over and eat nothing but hay and hay pellets. I'll get pictures of them dusting sometime now that I have the new camera. Also - I'm getting two white chinchilla boys after I get back from camping. Yay dexter (me not the chinchilla).

The baby Chinchillas figured out how to open the bottom door of their cage and they frolicked around the room for three days while we were gone and pooped on everything. We just came home and found them cuddling in their cage trying to act as if they did nothing. The poop does not lie! Nor does the open door.

my old roommate had one. it shit everywhere and its skittish nature made its frequent cage escapes obnoxious. they're cute, no doubt, yet they're not the kind of animals that should ever be kept as pets

Chinchilla's tend to bond to one person - if they get passed around or if they aren't used to you they'll be skittish. These guys are anything but, they've very nice, curious, and like to climb all over people and be held.

I'm with pumpkin and moris. I don't see what's so cute about. Also I've been thinking about getting a dog lately now that I'm permitted to have one.
