**** that.  the state doesn't validate your relationship.

I do think it's horrible that human rights issues are even put to a vote, let alone that so many people are actually voting against them.

a wedding ring would be pretty useless if you..uh..couldn't get married.

marriage is a commitment and promise between two people. A ring can certainly symbolize that.

I'm still holding out hope that it won't pass. San Fran's vote hasn't been counted at this point.

Even if it doesn't pass in CA, similar and equally heinous ballot initiatives are passing in other states.

When will people make a stand on this human rights issue? When we the good people of this country refuse to allow the law to side with the bigot?

1. I'm not actually gay, but I stopped objecting to the "John's gay" jokes quite a while ago.

2. This is horrible. It looks increasingly likely to pass, but there's still a real chance that it won't. I really hope it doesn't.

Well, prop 8 is still too close to call. It's ahead slightly, but there are a few million provisional and absentee ballots to be counted.

We'll see.

Right now it's at 52% yes with 95% of the vote counted. Damn it. This is so totally wrong.

I'm very saddened by the results.
Here's a step back for civil rights.
