STUPID SHEEPLE! GLOBAL WARMING IS IRRATIONAL ALARMIST BULL****! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THE GOVERNMENT IS USING IT TO TAKE OVER YOUR LIFE, RAPE YOUR DAUGHTERS, AND KILL YOU FOR BREATHING?????
STUPID HUMAN BEING. YOU ARE THE REASON THIS PLANET IS SO MISERABLE, WHAT WITH ALL THIS PROGRESS. DON'T YOU KNOW EARTH COMES FIRST? DON'T YOU KNOW OUR LIVES SHOULD BE MISERABLE FOR THE SAKE OF A FEW UPPITY LIBERALS WHO HATE HUMAN KIND AND THINK EARTH IS GOD?
Nothing is going to come of this. The EPA is not going to seize control over the entire country. Executive orders can't take your rights away. This is hype and hysteria.

The EPA is an unjust institution, as is the whole of the United States government.
Executive orders do not have the authority of law, although many a conspiracy theorist imagines they do. Laws passed by Congress and signed by the President, however, can and do destroy our civil liberties.
The idea that the EPA is going to take over the country is just silly. You realize this country is mostly conservative right? A lot of them don't even think global warming is real -- do you think they would tolerate that kind of crap?
To believe the paranoid, alarmist trash you linked to, you would have to have a) absolutely zero confidence in the will of the American people or b) have a delusional paranoia that clouds your every judgment.
Most of the country is conservative? Do you have something to back that up? I don't recognize that.
Also, the active people are the Liberals/Socialists and the Christian Right. They are the 2 major forces in American politics, and the results are obvious. No Conservative country ( Not that I like conservatives ) would ever have given way to the 2 candidates we have.
As far as you saying executive orders have no real authority, I'd strongly disagree. This is an obvious grab at power from the EPA. I don't believe over night this is going to happen, but the effects will be felt. However, if i had posted a link to some ACLU ( I like them ) article about how the executive branch is trying to do away with habeas corpus entirely, or some more liberal-leaning article, I think you'd be all over it. Of course, that is just speculation.
I remember you posting a Keith Olbermann video awhile back about the end of the Bill of Rights or something, and about how habeas corpus was dead. You claim I'm being alarmist and paranoid, and you link to moonbats like Olbermann.

That speculation would be about as well-founded as the article you posted (read: not at all).

First, I have been guilty of alarmism in the past, and I freely admit to this. Second, legally we do not have habeas corpus. It is only a matter of precedent that habeas corpus rights are being respected. Also, the law restricting it would immediately be challenged and the Supreme Court would likely strike it down. Thus, habeas corpus violations are restricted to people who have little or no chance of effectively fighting back.
