Mostly mainstream movies. The Dark Knight and Iron Man were the 2 movie experiences all year I REALLY enjoyed in theaters.

To have two movie experiences that you REALLY enjoy is pretty good for a single year that isn't over yet.

There are plenty of good movies being made. Watch anything made by Darren Aronofsky, who I think is a director that will rank among the likes of Kubrick and Scorsese by the time his career is over.

I thought The Fountain was beautifully directed. Say what you will about the story, but the actors all did phenomenal jobs, and the cinematography was stunning.

The actors were mostly monotone and lifeless, because they had no real material to work with.

Yeah, it was pretty, but that, in itself, doesn't make a good movie.
