However, I'm certain that there would be many things that I disagree with him on. Nut someone who is such a strong advocate for universal healthcare will always get some degree of approval from me.
So if people give you money, it's demeaning, but if someone robs other people and gives their money to you, it's benevolent?
Also, Ted Kennedy may have committed manslaughter because it wasn't premeditated, but he is nevertheless a coward and a despicable human being who should be shunned and reviled by society, not respected and paid by the public purse.
A charity system, by the way, was precisely what the majority of the British population relied on prior to the establishment of the NHS, and it was a resounding failure. You should take a look at the history of these things, it's interesting.

Charity doesn't work, end of story. Find a better way to distribute healthcare if you are so vehemently opposed to centralisation.
Charity isn't the only way, of course. 210,000,000 Americans find that private health care is affordable. The rest are either uninsured or on the public dollar.
The NHS is functioning quite well at the moment. Thankfully, we have come to realise this doesn't work.
1. a group of individuals or organizations combined or making a joint effort to undertake some specific duty or carry out specific transactions or negotiations: The local furniture store is individually owned, but is part of a buying syndicate. 2. a combination of bankers or capitalists formed for the purpose of carrying out some project requiring large resources of capital, as the underwriting of an issue of stock or bonds.
Anyway, I'm fine with any system as long as you leave government out of it, and allow people to choose to get their health care from private for profit institutions and don't make your system mandatory.
