Also some other suggestions for pop punk bands that don't fit the " cry about your girlfriend/whiny vocals " claim: Teenage Bottlerocket, The Lillingtons, Pink Lincolns, The Dickies, DESCENDENTS ( hELLOOOOO LIKE COME ON ), Sloppy Seconds ( Songs by fat people for fat people )

And of course i don't really consider most of what The Queers, Mr T Experience or Screeching Weasel do " Whining ".  Some songs are kind of like that, but it's pretty easy to figure out they're just joking around, or going for the Ramones-style love songs.

I like some stuff by the Descendents, but don't think they're all that fantastic. I'll admit that I do find a lot of Milo's vocals and lyrics annoying, but there you go. I have been meaning to listen to the Dickies for a while though.
As for the 'whining', it's not so much the style of singing the guys have, as just the tone of voice. Like I said before, that's partly down to accent so not their fault, but it irritates me.

I know what you mean by it, but I don't see it in that many bands.

Ben Weasel does not sound like he's a snot-nosed punk eeking into a microphone. Just sounds like a normal punk singer.
