most boys with light coloured hair grow gingery beards in my experience. it only means ginger pubes if head/body (arms legs etc) hair is also ginger.

Doubtful.

Head hair color is usually a good indication of body hair color.   Personally, I have a great deal of red in my beard, yet I have completely dark brom pubic hair.  Then again, my beard is mostly brown.

Why is that red pubes are traditionally seen as disgusting, as opposed to any colour of pubes? I've never quite understood that. Is red just an intrinsically ugly colour to some people?

Things out of the ordinary are often seen as kind of gross.

Yeah, that would be the most sense I could make of it. The weird thing is that it doesn't seem to bother a lot of people so much when it's head hair or body hair, but there's something about red/ginger and sexual areas that just doesn't mix.

A hairy bush bothers me immensely, but it used to be the norm. All I was exposed to was shaved bush, so when I see a full bush I shutter.

Eh, don't get me started on female body-hair, I will probably end up sounding like the world's worst hippie.

The WORST Hippie? Meaning you are not a good hippie, or you are an extreme hippie because you love body hair?

I wouldn't say I LOVE it as such. Basically my position is that when the hair is naturally occuring on both sexes, there seems no obvious reason for one sex to have to shave it when the other does not, or for one sex to have to shave it shorter/more often the other.
In the particular case of pubic hair, I can see that some degree of trimming and grooming is beneficial for both sexes in terms of hygiene, and I do so myself. But when it comes to the extreme close shave that is often seen as attractive in female pubic areas, many women I know tell me that it is very time-consuming and potentially quite painful, so I don't see it as worth the supposed aesthetic benefit, which I feel is quite subjective anyway.

I wholeheartedly agree.  While I appreciate the effort and the feel of smooth legs, shaved armpits, etc., I am not repulsed in the least by unshaven bodies, and I think the whole process is a bit silly and needless.
