it was about a year ago so I think I'm fine and I if I remember correctly I'd make more money going to work then going to jury duty it was financial decision.

In California you get $15 per day.

its similar here, when youre not on a case, you get a small amount each time youre required to show up for jury selections. but if you get empanelled on a jury you get closer to $100 a day, plus they give you lunch. i was on a jury for 4 long, boring, painful days.

When they ask you questions, just ask, "what race is the defendant?"

they ask jurors questions there?

here they just make you walk past the defence and prosecution to the bailiff if your name is called and they can say stand down if they dont want you to be a juror. if you make it to the bailiff, youre a juror.

In CA, the pay only kicks in if you're picked to be on a jury. Before then, you get nothing.
