Have you been paying attention to anything the past few weeks?  The human rights violations have been downplayed by the media, politicians are too afraid to criticize the Chinese government, and primetime specials do nothing but eulogize about China's glorious rise to global prominence.

 i've been watching cbc and they've been covering government crackdowns and the results of the one child policy ad nauseum
