Yeah I suppose so, I have heard it from a few people. But personally I find it very pleasing. His voice has strength that a lot singers seem to lack. Maybe it's partly to do with how they produce it, but his voice really fills out the sound.
I love his voice, even when he seems to be stretching words in a way that is beyond how they would be naturally pronounced. In fact, especially so. Like when he says "the gardenhead knows my naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame".
