That in America its more socially acceptable to be a drug addict than it is to be over weight. Which would you rather be. Piggie and Mr. Brett are barred for obvious reasons.

I picked fat, I'm fairly confident I could stop chowing down on cake and run a few miles a day. I wouldn't want to know how it feels to be addicted to something like heroin or crack.

I'd rather be addicted as **** than fat as ****, but I'd rather be moderately fat than be addicted at all. It's easier to break a heroin addiction than it is to lose 500 pounds.
The thing about obesity is Americans are quick to blame it completely on the moral character of the eater. They think it's easy to just stop eating so much, or go on a diet, and that weight will just slide right away. But the people who are dangerously fat are so because of life-long habits; losing significant weight requires a drastic lifestyle change that most people aren't willing to make.
As for many things wrong with America, I blame religion. Obesity is caused by gluttony, but drug addiction is caused by deception and chemicals (the devil) that tempt an otherwise noble person to fall into sin.
I'm not certain that if you got to the stage of having a serious drug addiction, you'd be particularly concerned about social acceptance anyway. Personally, I wouldn't want to be really, properly fat. It's easy to overlook how much of an impact it can have on just doing day to day things. I'd really hate to be at the stage of being exhausted from going up a flight of stairs and so forth.
On the other hand, I think I agree with the consensus that weights and shapes that traditionally would have been seen as healthy have come into excessive scrutiny and criticism. But I also feel that this might be starting to change.
I think I'm close. I think it just depends on a lot of factors. My dad's always been big( 300LB ), but he's also never been in lousy shape. He is certainly not Lance Armstrong, but he gets **** done. Of course it starts to show around 50-60 with back problems and **** like that.
