Best lowrider tunes, eh? It seems like there's one song in particular that would work perfectly, but I just can't quite put my finger on it... MCGARNAGLE.

Either you're referring to this -
or to that old War song ( in which case get with the times, man).
I usually hate all jazz guitar. Django is probably the only exception to that. His style is so unique and unmistakeable, unlike the vast majority of jazz guitar which is just the most bland, crummy sounding dribble in the world.

^ Yeah there's loads of really bland jazz guitar out there for sure. I sort of feel like jazz chords on a basic electric guitar just don't sound appealing most of the time. I heart Django for life though. Just brilliant. Such an effortless flow to his playing. That group of French guys that he usually recorded with (I forget their proper name) worked really well with him too.
I can tolerate backing chords way more than guitars playing lead parts in jazz (I don't care for either though). The styles just don't mix to me. And yeah, he had a fantastic band. I can't remember any names either except for Grappelli, the violinist, who really helped bring those songs to life. I like him a lot too.
