I wish they would have spread out the excitment, but yeah, the first segment was pretty great zombie action and dilemma setup. The drama would be better if some people could act better than a high school play.
The actor who played the skinny bad guy in the bar scene last week probably gave the best performance I've seen in this show. I wish they could have found a reason to keep him around for a few more episodes.
And on another note, the teaser for next week's episode suggests that there's finally going to be a real showdown between Rick and Shane.
The end was executed poorly, but it does seem we will see some cool things by the end of the season. I would love for Rick to kill Shane or vice versa. It probably won't happen, because TV sucks.
I still really like this show, despite the best efforts of the people who make it.
I'm betting on Shane getting found out for the piece of shit that he is, and then dying to save Lori and Carl in what we're supposed to view as a heroic act of redemption, because that's the laziest and most cliche course the writers could take.
Definitely. I haven't read the whole run by a long shot, but if you've got some spare change then it's a comic worth reading. It gets across the "No. Hope" message a lot better.
