I have to do a book report on a highschool standard book. We all have to post our opening paragraphs for peer review. I thought this one was worth reading, ya know, for the lulz:

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini tells a story about how jealously turns friendship into betrayal between two boys who grew up as brothers. Amir, a rich Afghan boy, lacks the affection of his father, Baba, which leads him to betray Hassan, a poor servant, and allowing him to be beaten and raped in an alley after a big kite tournament. Amir and Baba flee to America due to the invasion by the Russians. Amir takes a dangerous journey back to his home roots to try to resolve the mistake he had done as a child.
