This is one of John Wayne's better films. Jeff Bridges kicks a lot of ass. Who has played a cowboy, a supervillain and a bowler in their career besides him? No one.

Black Swan was good, and you are wrong for not liking it. Aronofsky consistently makes good films.
That said, True Grit looks awesome and I very much want to see it. And I don't really like westerns that much.
That scene was barely noteworthy. Although I'm sure a good scene could be thought up that involves Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman lezzing it up, this one was fully integrated into the weird horror elements of the movie.
I was wrong about seeing it on tuesday or wednesday, I didn't get to see it until last night because my so called friends are buttholes and went to see it without me. However I was not wrong about the movie being awesome. The movie was fucking sexy.
It was probably the most straightforward Coen Brother's movie, story wise, but the dialog was still their specific way of writing.

The movie's just your basic western. Like Pizza said, this is the first straight-up genre flick the Coen Brothers have ever done. There was no toying around with the Western motifs. I was pleased with that.
The girl in the leading role of Mattie kicked major ass. I don't understand the politics of the Academy Awards, but she should at least get a nomination for it. That she is on level with an actor like Jeff Bridges in her first film ever is pretty amazing.
Jeff Bridges was great, but who wouldn't expect that?
This movie makes me wish Westerns were still made as much as they once were. I like to watch a Western movie sometimes, but most suffer from such bad aging. Sure, John Wayne flicks really knocked your socks off in the 50s and 60s, but they lose something 40 years after.

Oh yeah, I was going to mention that, she was amazing. She was by far the best character in the movie, and when your competition is Jeff Bridges playing a drunken cowboy with an eyepatch that's saying something.
