I LIKED CATCHER IN THE RYE. I KNOW IT'S COOL TO HATE THAT BOOK BUT I DON'T CARE.

Now that he's DEAD they're supposedly gonna publish all the shit he wrote and never put out.

Since when has it been cool to hate Catcher in the Rye? It's widely accepted to be a literary masterpiece.

It's just some loser whining about his life. I have nothing but contempt for those who think so little of themselves that they make nothing of themselves.

I'm not saying Salinger is a bad writer -- he isn't. I just hate the protagonist so much that I can't enjoy the book.
