This might end stupid jail sentences for drug addicts, but we're still going to be paying billions to put them in some rehab or whatever bull**** Obama will think up.

It's a change (I can believe in!) from the past near 40 years of bull****. No president has been for ending the war on drugs. This guy seems to be, and even the conservatives are starting to realize what an utter disaster this has been at least from a financial standpoint.
An assemblyman in CA wants to completely legalize marijuana in the state.
Of course, he's a California politician, so he's not motivated by a desire to protect individual rights. His stated motivation is to give the state a new source of tax revenue.
in ciudad juarez, an insurgency is being sponsored by drug lords who are empowered by being in control of the drug supply.
i think i heard somewhere that, for relatively constant demand of an arbitrary product, an increase in its supply decreases its equilibrium price. i've also heard that a person or group needs money to gain financial leverage over other groups
"In a statement that's sure to disappoint many of those who submitted questions to President Obama's virtual town hall meeting, the president made clear Thursday he does not support legalizing marijuana as a means to spur economic growth."
Spurring economic growth is only a side effect of legalization. He should be supporting legalizing marijuana because it is JUST and RIGHTEOUS.
