There's like a fire 5 miles away from my parent's house and one 2 miles away from the place I rent (they're both different fires). I think I have a prediction for BR's next hit song on their next album - Yorba Linda is burning.

We had hurricane level winds earlier that have died down to 40 miles an hour going the other way. We're still covered in ash though. The winds are aiming at my parent's house but it doesn't look as if the fire will jump the freeway there (which is right next to a river).

The radio is saying 800 homes have been lost thus far. We were away from home this morning and spent 4 hours trying to get around fires and closed freeways to get home and grab our stuff if we had to evacuate.

Burly firemen are always good. It looks as if the fire hasn't spread much since last night - it is heading right to the mall though. Guess a lot of people won't be doing holiday shopping there. Today we might need to evacuate our friend's reptile store because another fire started along the main road behind where he works. They got most of the animals out last night (minus the ones used for food) but there are still some in the warehouse on the property.

It happens every year down in SD or up in the LA area or the San Bernardino area. It doesn't generally hit the part of orange county I'm in. And it's still decently ashy.
