Obama did just say that individual rights aren't subject to popular vote.

That's cool.

So when Obama referenced 60 million untapped acres of oil fields and told the oil companies to "Use em or lose em", I shuttered.

a vote for obama is a vote for abstinence education, taxpayer-sponsored murder, taxpayer-sponsored government interference of the "free market",  failure to recognize the necessity of nuclear power as a part of the "green energy" mix, the elimination of gay marriage, the taxpayer sponsorship of america's embarrassing war on drugs, and the liberty-robbing/freedom-hating patriot act.  obama is one of those douchebags who panders to the christian voters and the authoritarian left.

The argument is that the federal government is leasing it to them, and if they aren't using it, the government has every right to take it back. Of course they evade or do not realize that the federal government shouldn't own any land.

Of course, this is normally where my private/government ideas clash. How does government acquire ANY property except through private leasing?
