Nothing was tweaked.

Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure what you're referring to. Are you talking about his acquittal for murder, and the subsequent finding of liability for wrongful death in a civil suit?

Because those are totally different matters, and don't even come close to raising double jeopardy issues.
