The new unit looks almost exactly like the existing DS Lite, but it's some 12 percent thinner, partly because it doesn't have a GBA cartridge slot. The screens are also slightly larger, at 3.25 inches, and there are two cameras, at least one of which is VGA res.

Something which Nintendo will promise to revolutionize the way games are played and I'll eat it up then face the bitter sting of disappointment when it turns out to be a lame gimmick.
I remember them saying we'd be able to take pictures of ourselves with the Game Boy camera and then paste our faces on video game characters in Perfect Dark. Never happened. I'm not sure it was that great an idea in the first place.
Oh, it has 2 cameras, 1 being 3 megapixels. That's the one on the outside.
The one on the inside is the 300k pixel camera. That's 640x480, significantly higher than the resolution of the DS screens. So if the 300k pixel camera only displays images on the DS screen, it will be more than enough. I assume it will be used in some games, and maybe allow for online video chat, though knowing Nintendo, and the irrational paranoia that led to friend codes (making getting into an online game a ridiculous chore), something tells me that video chat will be heavily restricted, if it's available at all.
