Terminators 1 and 2 are easily on par with the show, if not better. It completely ignores the T3 continuity.
Also, because this show clearly has a much, much lower budget than any of the movies, they can't dazzle the audience with special effects (though they're certainly competent, for a weekly show on network TV), so they have to focus more on creating compelling stories and characters.
