Just signed the lease and paid the security deposit on a new apartment. It's got a bigger kitchen, a nice backyard (I can finally have a real vegetable garden) and a 300 square foot detached studio (which would cost a few hundred dollars a month by itself) so my fiancee has a space to do art, off-street parking, and rent is only $50 more per month than our current place. And it includes utilities. Oh, and it's closer to both our jobs, so the commute will be much shorter.

Basically, we won the apartment lottery.

Oh, and the landlady is absurdly nice.

There has to be a catch. I'm sure the place is haunted.

But, honestly, I think I can live with a poltergeist. It's just like an annoying roommate, right?
